DONNE, Women in Music is an inspirational project that promotes equality and diversity in music.
Everything we do, we do it because we believe in creating real change in the gender inequality currently present in the music industry.
We believe in thinking differently and creatively in order to raise awareness and reach as many people as possible in our inspirational journey.
Our main goal is to leave a legacy of inspiration for future generation on how we include, support and promote women in music.`
Collectively, we work to make the music industry a more equal, diverse, and inclusive community for all.
Our multimedia platform provides a wide selection of resources, which continues to grow every day, inviting you all to discover more about
the vast and rich contribution made by women in music.

Donne wants to significantly raise awareness about women composers who made and are still making a difference to society by celebrating their success to ensure there are more role models for future generations.
We want to empower women to unleash their creative power, support more women in this journey, educate audiences and engage all people in the conversation.

WHY WE DO IT
The lack of role models just contributes to making girls feel that this isn’t something they could do, so we just have to work really hard to change that perception so more women can believe they CAN do it.
Together, we are creating real change in the gender inequality present in the music business.

As our name suggests, we are an inclusive organisation dedicated to uplifting and supporting anyone who identifies as a woman.

- The Big List – with more than 4.000 names, the Big List is a searchable database providing information on women composers from the 11th century til now
- Educational Videos: through the year Donne celebrates the women who are currently making their mark in society as well as spotlighting the female protagonists in music history;
- Commissions and concert series;
- Donne Collection: we take our equality initiate to the recording market by continuing to record more music written by female composers;
