Something extraordinary has happened: For years, the Donne Foundation’s Big List documented around 5,000 women composers.
But new research has revealed that this list has now more than 18,000 women composers.
To celebrate 8 years of Donne and Women’s History Month, we want to make the full list publicly searchable and freely available to musicians, educators, researchers and audiences everywhere.
To do that, we are raising £10,000 to rebuild the platform that hosts the database.
We’ve already uncovered the 18,000 women composers.
