WOLLENBERG, Susan
  Susan Wollenberg was until September 2016 Professor of Music at the University of Oxford, Lecturer at Brasenose College, and Fellow and Tutor of Lady Margaret Hall, where she now holds an Emeritus Fellowship.
Her publications include Music at Oxford in the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries (2001); Concert Life in Eighteenth-Century Britain (2004), co-edited with Simon McVeigh; and, co-edited with Therese Ellsworth, The Piano in Nineteenth-Century British Culture: Instruments, Performers and Repertoire (2007). She edited the proceedings of the international bicentenary conference âFanny Hensel (nĂ©e Mendelssohn Bartholdy) and her Circleâ (Oxford, 2005) for Nineteenth-Century Music Review (2007). Her monograph, Schubertâs Fingerprints: Studies in the Instrumental Works, was published in 2011. She co-edited, with Aisling Kenny, Women and the Nineteenth-Century Lied (2015).
Her own compositions include the song cycle The Survivor, which was premiered at St Johnâs, Smith Square in 2005, with Kathryn Whitney (mezzo-soprano). Her song-cycle Alles auf der Welt ist Wandel was premiered in Oxford in 2006 (Part 1) and 2007 (Part 2), with Kathryn Whitney; and her set of variations for piano solo entitled fĂŒr Fanny Hensel was first performed complete in 2008.
