Pilvi Üllaste (birth surname Tõnisson) was an Estonian radio presenter, composer, writer, and artist.
In 1935, she started working as a musical designer for performances at the Estonian Drama Theatre . From 1938 to 1940, she worked as a producer of children's programmes at the Estonian State Broadcasting. There she earned the nickname "radio aunt". During the same period of her life, she played the kannel in the Taara community of Taara believers , and her musical performance "Lamburneid" was staged at the Estonia Theatre.
She created many well-known children's songs, for which she also wrote the lyrics. Many of them later found their way onto audio cassettes and records, as well as into school songbooks. However, Pilvi Üllaste's work also includes songs for adults, for which she also wrote the lyrics herself.
