Adriana Sá is a transdisciplinary artist, performer, musician, and composer whose work explores the intersection of music, vision, and space. Her practice, which began in 1997, encompasses interactive performances, installations, and the design of unique instruments. Sá's graphic scores are characterized by their suggestion of sonic textures and variations, while leaving room for interpretation.
Between 1998 and 2008, she utilized sensor technologies to create music linked to light, space, movement, and social context, developing architecturally-scaled instruments. Since 2008, her focus has shifted to audio-visual performance, including the development of 3D software informed by perception science. Sá has presented her work internationally and collaborated with various artists. Her custom instrumentation has been developed in residencies and explored in diverse site-specific projects and performances across Europe, the USA, Brazil, and Japan.
