Garsenda, Countess of Forcalquier and Provence was a prominent 13th-century Occitan trobairitz (female troubadour) and patron of the arts. She wrote lyric poetry and composed music, with one tenson (debate poem) surviving. Known as a powerful ruler, she fostered a vibrant court culture in Southern France
