Gisela Paterno is an Argentinian-Italian musician, educator, and composer. Her work encompasses acoustic chamber music, live electronics, and avant-garde forms, often exploring the interaction between body, sound, and technology. She is an interdisciplinary composer for dance and contemporary performance.
Paterno's musical journey began with the electric guitar, evolving towards a classical foundation. She has explored various aspects of music, including composing, conducting, performing, and researching from medieval to spectral music. Her compositions have been performed internationally at venues in Argentina, Paraguay, the United States, Denmark, and Spain. She founded GEAM (Experimental Music Group) in 2009 and has received commissions from festivals and arts organizations. Paterno also runs a bilingual education platform called MUSICAL FACETS.
