J JONES, Carol
Carol J Jones is a composer of contemporary classical music, writing chamber, orchestral and vocal music. Informed by scientific methods, her work deconstructs sounds to create bold, layered compositions. Her music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, BBC One and BBC World Service and has been performed in venues ranging from Westminster Abbey to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Her works have been workshopped and performed by ensembles including the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Ligeti Quartet, Armida Quartet, Fidelio Trio, members of Psappha, members of the Heath Quartet, Joby Burgess, Claire McCaldin, Libby Burgess, and Fenella Humphreys. She is currently researching for a DPhil in Music Composition at the University of Oxford, titled Beyond Mimesis: Nature in Contemporary Classical Music.
