Giuliana Funkhouser combines synthesized audio with field recordings to produce story-driven sound art projects and performances. Funkhouser capped off her graduate studies at the San Francisco Art Institute in May 2020 with a 4-channel sound installation called AfterMath, and a written thesis titled "Engaging Sympathetic Vibrations: Listening Through Experimental Scores." Since then her soundscapes have been featured within the University College London's 'Multimedia Encounters' group exhibition, as well as an art show by Mac Pierce and Christina Balch titled 'On Being Seen' at Installation Space in North Adams, MA. In 2022 she released MMXXI, an album in collaboration with electronic musician Elizabeth Virosa. A ten-year veteran of the video games industry, Funkhouser's latest role in games included leading a small team of sound designers and composers as Audio Director of a mobile app startup.
