FRANK, Fiona

Fiona Frank, born in London in 1961, grew up in Hale, Cheshire, and attended Altrincham Girls' Grammar School, where she was active in the music department. She began violin lessons at age 11 and later studied with several performers. Frank was a member of the Trafford Youth Orchestra and sang in a church choir.

In 1980, while studying fine art in Manchester, she joined the Horse & Bamboo theatre company, where she engaged in improvisation and worked with musicians. Although she pursued a degree in Fine Art Painting and taught art, her passion for music continued through violin playing and chamber music. Frank has also composed music, with works premiered by ensembles such as 'I Solisti Veneti' and David Juritz. Her compositions have been featured in concerts, including events titled 'Renewal' and 'Soul of Women'. Nature is a significant influence on both her art and music.
