Melissa Coleman was born in 1968 in Melbourne, Australia. She studied cello and performing arts at the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne and graduated with distinction.
Since 1992 Melissa Coleman has lived in Vienna and performs and tours as soloist and ensemble musician in renowned classical, modern, jazz and world music festivals throughout the world. She also works as a composer, arranger and improviser for modern dance, theater productions and multimedia projects. She has recorded over 70 CDs since living in Vienna.
