Eka Chabashvili is a Georgian composer, pianist, educator and artistic researcher, born in Tbilisi on 12 January 1971. She studied composition at the V. Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire with Nodar Mamisashvili and later earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree there. Her work includes opera, ballet, orchestral, chamber, vocal and experimental music, and she has developed new approaches to multimedia and spatial composition. Chabashvili is an Associate Professor of Composition at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire and founded the experimental instrumental theatre SENSUS. Her music has been performed internationally.
