Anna Cederberg-Orreteg is a Swedish composer, pianist, singer, choral conductor and music educator, born in Stockholm in 1958. She graduated from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm in 1982 with piano as her principal instrument and double bass as her second instrument. Her experience singing in the Storkyrkan Choir under Gustaf Sjökvist was particularly important to her development as a choral composer.
Cederberg-Orreteg has written extensively for children’s, youth, women’s and mixed choirs. Her catalogue ranges from accessible educational repertoire to advanced polyphonic compositions, characterised by lyrical expression, refined simplicity, sensitive treatment of texts and occasional tone painting. Her long career at Adolf Fredrik’s Music Classes also inspired her to create high-quality music suitable for singers at different levels. She has been a member of the Swedish Society of Composers since 2006.
