Angélica Castelló is a Mexican-Austrian composer, sound artist, improviser and recorder player, born in Mexico City on 9 February 1972. Her electroacoustic compositions combine instrumental sounds with field recordings, magnetic tape, radios, cassette players, electronics and her characteristic Paetzold contrabass recorder. Her music frequently explores memory, dreams, trauma, fragility and the subconscious. Notable works include Sonic Blue, Red Rooms, Palomilla, Trois Chansons Tristes, Catorce reflexiones sobre el fin, Star Washers for orchestra and electronics, and Espacio 7.
