CARPENEDO, Amanda

Amanda Carpenedo is a Brazilian guitarist, arranger, composer and researcher. She studied classical guitar and music education at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, receiving academic distinction in both programmes. She later completed a master’s degree in music performance at the University of Aveiro in Portugal, where her research focused on arranging music for solo guitar through the use of percussive and extended techniques.

Carpenedo performs classical and Brazilian popular music and has participated in festivals and concert tours in Brazil and Europe. In 2017, she won first prize at the Fábio Lima Guitar Competition in Curitiba. Her debut album, Motirõ, was released in 2024 and presents new works written for her by Brazilian and Portuguese composers. The album also contains her own cycle Five Miniatures, comprising Flutua, Cirandô, Clareia, Avôa and Colore. Her work combines classical-guitar technique with rhythmic, percussive and popular-music influences.
