CARLIN, Stephanie L.

Stephanie L. Carlin is a New York–based composer, writer, orchestrator and sound designer working primarily in musical theatre, film and live performance. They studied at Berklee College of Music and are an alum of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop and the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project. Carlin’s work has been presented at venues including Symphony Space, Joe’s Pub, 54 Below, Green Room 42 and the New York Conservatory for the Arts.
Carlin wrote the book, music and lyrics for Spectrum, a musical comedy exploring neurodivergence, adulthood and queer identity. The work was presented through New York Theatre Barn’s New Works Series and Barn on Fire, and was selected as a semifinalist for the 2024 O’Neill National Music Theater Conference. Other works include the musicals In Theory and Myers-Briggs Destroyed the Fabric of Society. Carlin also composed the score for the short film Two Anxious Bisexuals, selected for the 2022 Cannes Short Film Festival.
