Ahlefeldt was an aristocrat born in Germany, growing up in the court in Regensburg, and learning clavecin from an early age. Her compositions include 'La Folie, ou quel Conte!' (1780s), 'Telemak paa Calypsos Øe' (1792), 'Veddemaalet' (1793), and 'Romance de Nina' (1794/98).
