Isabelle Aboulker was born in 1938 into the convergence of influences from a composer grandfather, Henry Février, and a filmmaker and writer father, Marcel Aboulker.
Alongside her studies in writing and accompaniment at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, she composes for film, theatre, and television.
Accompanist, vocal coach, then, from 1983 to 2003, professor of young singers at the CNSM in Paris, the excellent reception given to her first lyrical works confirmed her in the consistency of her stylistic orientations inherited from a French tradition dear to Debussy, Ravel, Poulenc, attentive to prosody, and demanding in the choice of libretti.
