ZEISE, Olga

Olga Zeise was the youngest daughter of her family. She was a pianist and composer, composing works like ballads, Lieder, and other small works that could be heard in salons. From 1880 to 1883, she studied piano at the Konservatorium Cologne, where she also received instruction in composition and conducting. In 1884 and 1885, Olga Zeise supplemented her studies with lessons from Franz Liszt in Weimar and Carl Reinicke in Altona. She also gave her first public concert in Altona in 1885. In 1923, she was one of the first women to be elected to the board of the Altona Municipal Theater Association.
