Simone Zaunmair studied composition at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität bei Gunter Waldek Erland Freudenthaler and Carola Bauckholt and oboe at the Konservatorium in Klagenfurt with Michael Turnovsky. She also received composition lessons from Alois Wimmer, Thomas Doss and Albin Zaininger. Since 2009, she has served as the founder, musical director, and chairwoman of the big band Wösblech Delüx; she is also an active musician herself, playing various instruments across a wide range of genres.
