Scharmien Zandi is a composer, musician, and performer working in music, theatre, opera, and interdisciplinary sound art. She also produces music for film, theatre, and live performances, blending acoustic and electronic elements. She collaborates internationally in theatre, film, and with bands such as CADÛ, Caravan of LUV, and ARAMBOA. Trained in classical singing (soprano), her vocal range spans from improvisation to expressive screams. She plays piano, guitar, synthesizer, flute, and the Kurdish daf. She is the president of the internationale Akademie der Künste Wien (iAKW) and co-founder of the artist collective D#AVANTGARDE, she develops new formats, perspectives, and interpretations of the present and future together with like-minded collaborators.
