Melanie Withofner (née Rosola) (1896-1970) was an Austrian dancer, composer, pianist, and teacher. She began dancing at a young age with institutions such as the Vienna Court Opera and the Imperial Jubilee Theatre (Vienna Volksoper). She concurrently received private piano lessons and enrolled at the Vienna Academy of Music in 1917. In the 1930s she was both began public performances as a piano accompanist and ran a gymnastics school. She continued to study at the Vienna Academy of Music in 1941-1944, learning organ and harpsichord. She is known for writing ballets, works for piano and harpsichord, songs, and arrangements.
