WICKMAN, Fredrika

Fredrika Maria Wilhelmina Wickman (the spellings Wichmann and Wickmann also appear). Born in Stockholm. Employed at the Royal Theatre from 1869 to 1870; subsequently a concert singer and teacher. She made her debut at the Royal Theatre at the age of 16 as Donna Elvira in *Don Juan*. Her employment at the opera house ended as early as 1870. She subsequently performed in locations such as Cologne (as Rosina in *The Barber of Seville*). She pursued further studies in Milan under Elpina Ferretti Lamperti and taught at the Conservatoire de Musique in Neuchâtel.

One of her works, 'Flyttfoglarne [The migratory birds]' for voice and piano, was released in 1874.
