Amanda Whiting is a classically trained harpist who furthered her studies with a master's in jazz. She is celebrated for her innovative approach to the instrument. Seamlessly blending classical technique with soulful improvisation, she has carved out a distinctive space in the harp world and beyond.
Inspired by legends like Dorothy Ashby and Alice Coltrane, Amanda’s music is rich with rhythm, harmony, and emotional depth. Her acclaimed releases on Jazzman Records and First Word Records, along with performances on global stages have established her as a pioneering force in modern jazz harp.
As well as a performer, she is an educator and currently teaches jazz harp at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff and The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
