Adelheid Wette (1858–1916) was a German writer, librettist, and folklorist. Sister of composer Engelbert Humperdinck, she is best known for writing the libretto of his opera Hänsel und Gretel (1893). She also collaborated with Humperdinck on Schneewittchen and Die sieben Geißlein. She published children’s songs and fairy-tale plays, such as Deutsches Kinderliederbuch (1903), Froschkönig (The Frog King), Schneewittchen (Snow White), and Die sieben Geißlein (The Seven Young Kids).
