Monica Max West is an award-winning American-born singer-songwriter based in London. Originally from Chicago, she creates original songs drawing on folk, alternative and Buddhist musical traditions. Her work explores themes including mindfulness, feminism, environmentalism, compassion and social activism. She has released numerous albums of original music, including Joy, On the Path, Hope, Memory, Fresh and Yes. She also creates and performs songs connected with the Plum Village Buddhist tradition.
Her earlier work includes music with groups such as Fruit of Fire, The Two Party System and Tomboy, while her more recent work focuses largely on solo songwriting and recording.
