WARN-JOHNSTON, Brannon

Brannon Warn-Johnston is a composer, violinist, and multi-instrumentalist. She draws inspiration for her compositions from nature and her life experiences, often incorporating elements from backpacking trips. Her work has been featured on NPR’s ‘From the Top,’ including a piece inspired by a backpacking journey and another reflecting her experiences with cancer.

Warn-Johnston's compositions have been performed by various ensembles. In February 2024, she performed several of her works in a chamber ensemble as part of MoPOP’s Sound Off!. In November 2023, her composition "Escape" premiered with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra as part of a fundraiser for Seattle Children’s Hospital. Her piece "Misty Oasis in Scorching Heat" was performed by the Seattle Symphony in May 2023 as part of a Young Composers Workshop documentary.
