Ann Warde is an American experimental composer, sound artist, and independent scholar. Her work explores relationships between music, technology, spatial sound, and the sonic environments of humans and animals. She studied electroacoustic music composition and ethnomusicology, and later worked at Cornell University’s Lab of Ornithology, applying audio technology to the analysis of whale sounds. Her compositions often combine field recordings, electronic media, acoustic instruments, and interdisciplinary research. She has received recognition including a NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship and a Fulbright Research Fellowship at the University of York.
