Sophie Wallner (b. 2001) is an Austrian composer of contemporary music. Born in Vienna, she has studied composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) since 2020 with Dietmar Schermann and Clara Iannotta. Her music explores timbre, texture, and contemporary instrumental techniques, and has been performed by leading new music ensembles. In 2024, she was selected as a finalist for the Ö1 Talentebörse Composition Prize, recognizing her as one of Austria’s emerging young composers.
