Karolina Chodkiewiczowa-Walewska (1778–1846) was a Polish aristocratic amateur composer, singer, and patron of the arts. Born into the noble Walewski family, she married Count Aleksander Franciszek Chodkiewicz and became active in the musical life of early nineteenth-century Poland. She is best known for contributing a musical setting to Śpiewy historyczne (1816), a landmark patriotic collection by Julian Ursyn Niemcewicz. Her musical interests also influenced her daughter, Zofia Chodkiewicz, who became a composer and pianist, reflecting the family’s engagement with Poland’s aristocratic salon culture.
