Harriet Wainewright, also known as Harriet Wainewright (c.1766–1843), she was an English composer, soprano, and singing teacher. She is best known for Comàla (1792), one of the earliest operatic works by a British woman composer. Despite the limited opportunities available to women composers of her time, her music received critical acclaim and has attracted renewed scholarly interest in recent years.
