Mira Voglar was a Slovenian composer and music teacher. She completed her studies in musicology and music pedagogy in 1969 at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, and her postgraduate studies in music pedagogy at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. She taught the methodology of music education at the Secondary School of Education in Ljubljana, and then, until her retirement, she was a professor at the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana. Mira Voglar is the author of musical fairy tales, musically didactic games, puzzles, counting games, radio and television shows, stage music for children's theatres and songs for children. She is also the author of books for educators and teachers and the founder of modern preschool music education. In 1981, she received the Žagar Award for her work in the field of education.
