Ruta Vintule is a Latvian composer. She studied piano and composition and graduated from Jānis Ivanovs' composition class in 1967 and works as a collaborative pianist for the women's choir Dzintars and the Latvian Academic State Choir. As a composer, Vintule has focused on creating chamber works and choral music and has composed to a significant extent for mixed and female choirs. Her works are characterized by lyrical expression, romanticism and a musical language rooted in impressionist traditions.
