Megan Vinther is a Seattle area composer, performer, and music educator who is passionate about creating welcoming communities through music. She has taught in secondary public schools since 2003 and is currently the director of instrumental music at Everett High School in Everett, Washington, and served as the conductor of the Edmonds Concert Band at Edmonds College from 2021-2025. As frequent adjudicator and guest conductor, Megan works with ensembles across the region to provide insightful feedback and musical leadership.
Megan holds a B.M.E. and M.M.E. from the University of Oregon, where her focus was on music education and F Horn performance. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Megan has spent the entirety of her career in Washington and Oregon. Recent commissions and collaborations with the Wintergrass Youth Orchestra, North County Honor Band, Bluegene Brass Quintet, and Seattle JazzEd have been met with delight by conductors, performers, and audiences alike. Her compositions can be found on her website, MeganVintherMusic.com, and are published by Murphy Music, Brava Jazz, Randall Standridge Music and Carl Fisher Music.

She has written pieces for concert band, jazz band, orchestra, and chamber ensembles. Her talent has been sought out by schools and organizations who have commissioned her to write new pieces.
