VILORIA, Maite Aurrekoetxea

Maite Aurrekoetxea Viloria (Begoña, Bilbao) is a pianist, musician, composer, conductor and music teacher from Bizkaia.

Shee was director of the Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga Conservatory of Music in Bilbao between 2015 and 2022.

She obtained an Accordion degree at the Arriaga Conservatory in Bilbao and studied Piano and Viola. She also studied Harmony, Counterpoint, and Fugue, and studied Composition at the Jesus Guridi Conservatory in Vitoria with Professor Carmelo Bernaola. At the Superior Conservatory of Madrid, she studied Orchestral Conducting. In this field, she is the conductor of the Basque Chamber Orchestra and deputy conductor of the Jesus Guridi Conservatory Orchestra. She has also directed the Barakaldo Penal Choir. 1998. For the past year she has been the conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of the Bergara School of Music.
