Mengia Vielanda-Bisazia is known as the first Romansh poet. In 1749, Mengia published the "Ovretta musicala," which included songs that went through several reprints between 1754 and 1769. According to Bezzola, it is a "modest and charming collection of spiritual songs, moving in their simplicity." Gross suggests that the songs reflect the dreams behind the plans in the activity. Other works are not known, and the exact place and year of birth are uncertain. She was married to Tana Violand from Scuol.
