Marina Vesic (aka Black Marine) is an award-winning composer, pianist, songwriter, vocalist and music producer whose work bridges classical tradition and experimental innovation. Classically trained in composition, orchestration, and piano at the Faculty of Music, University of Belgrade, she further honed her expertise in electro-acoustic composition at The University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna (mdw) ELAK Institute, and electronic music performance at the STEIM Institute, Amsterdam, where she developed her signature instrument, the crackle box.
Marina holds a doctorate in music science with a focus on popular music from the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna (mdw), reflecting her deep engagement with both academic research and contemporary sonic practices.
Her work spans contemporary classical, electronic, and experimental genres, and she is recognized for her bold, genre-defying approach that integrates live performance, custom-built instruments, and cutting-edge production.
