Marieke van de Ven creates sound walks, podcasts, audio stories, electro-acoustic compositions and field recordings. Inspired by the sounds surrounding us, she investigates the musicality and narratives formed by nature and urban environments. Within the stratification of field recordings, abstract sounds, interviews and text, she explores the relationship between sound and storytelling.
Marieke van de Ven studied Composition and Sound Design at the Utrecht School of the Arts. In 2011 she earned a Bachelor with Honors Composition and Sound Design and a Master of Arts, specialized in Music and Sound Design.
