VARGAS, Eva

Eva Vargas lived in Heidelberg from 1965, and in the transformer house of the Heidelberg dam near Wieblingen since 1984. She called her self-created art “rest art” and carried out associated exhibitions and actions with ecological, humanitarian and political goals. Her activities covered the areas of literature, music, painting, design and action. She was the owner and director of the small theater on wheels “Heidelberger Lumpen-Paradies”. She repeatedly initiated support programs in schools, youth centers and prisons.

Eva Vargas was married to Arnfried Astel from 1958 to 1966. She died on June 28, 2010 as a result of cancer.
