VARALLYAY, Petra

Petra Várallyay is a multi award-winning violinist, jazz pianist, vocalist and composer. She creates and performs music at a wide range of genres, from prog jazz through free improv to world music. Besides leading her own projects, she had the chance to share the stage with music legends such as Bobby McFerrin, Uri Caine, Nik Bärtsch and Yo-Yo Ma. As composer/arranger of Jazzation, her vocal works are performed at prestigious a Cappella festivals around the world.

In the past few years, she was the recipient of numerous awards including the Creative Art Prize and the Junior Prima Award. Besides her musical career, Petra is a martial art practitioner and a Yoga & Qigong instructor. As a dedicated teacher in both creative music and mindful movement, she inspires people with lessons & workshops based on ancient wisdom, personal experience and innovative ideas.
