Claire Louise van Kampen, Lady Rylance was an English director, composer, and playwright. From 1997 to 2015, she served as the founding director of music at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, assisting her husband, actor and director Mark Rylance, and later working with his successor, Dominic Dromgoole. There, she frequently created period music for Shakespeare's plays.

Van Kampen composed music for theatrical productions in London's West End and on Broadway that often starred her husband, covering repertoire from Euripides' *Helen* to contemporary plays like *Nice Fish*. She also worked as a musical director and stage director for some of these productions.

As a playwright, she wrote *Farinelli and the King*, which was performed both in London and on Broadway. Additionally, van Kampen composed music for the film *Nights and Days*, created a ballet for the New York Theatre Ballet, and advised and arranged music for the BBC television series *Wolf Hall*.
