VALERIO, Vanessa

Vanessa Valério (b. 1978) is a Portuguese composer born in Lisbon. She began studying music at the age of four at the Academia de Música de Santa Cecília, where she studied classical guitar, but interrupted her musical training at fifteen. She later resumed music while studying Interior Architecture, eventually entering the Composition Course at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa in 2007. Her works were performed at the Peças Frescas festival, and her orchestral piece Imagens para Orquestra was selected for the Gulbenkian Orchestra’s 7th Workshop for Young Portuguese Composers, whose jury was chaired by Emmanuel Nunes.
