As a composer, Jessica draws on a rich diversity of influences, ranging from the grand tradition of English choral music to the expanded sound worlds of contemporary music. Her compositions are known for their fusion of sonic elements, creating immersive soundscapes that extend the acoustic properties of performance spaces and invite listeners into a transcendent experience. Jessica’s works often play with fluidity and dissolution of boundaries, aiming to create powerful and healing music for our time. Her music, described as both vibrant and meticulously crafted, embodies a profound sense of organic coherence, where each detail stands out in its own light while remaining part of a unified whole.

Jessica is a lockdown composer, whose first recorded composition, Songs of Songs, was released in autumn 2021 on the album of the award-winning vocal sextet Singer Pur. A portrait CD of her compositions with the Tenebrae Choir under the direction of Nigel Short will be released on Signum Classics in June 2026. Tenebrae will give the British premiere of her Engelsmusik no. 1 and the world premiere of Engelsmusik no. 2 at Wigmore Hall on 11 February 2026, with subsequent concerts in Switzerland.
