In 1983, she formed her first group, Mozaik, which released four albums by 1995, blending rock, classical Western music, and jazz.

In 2004, Tütüncü founded a trio featuring Yahya Dai and Oğuz Büyükberber. Her work extends beyond concerts and albums to include composing music for theatre, documentaries, and silent films, as well as writing about music. She also leads workshops and gives lessons. Tütüncü's music is described as open to improvisation and the fusion of diverse sounds.
