Telesilla of Argos was an ancient Greek lyric poet and heroine from the 5th century BCE, who defended her city against the Spartans.
She composed hymns, poems, and songs meant to be sung by groups of young girls, focusing on deities like Apollo and Artemis. Only a few brief fragments of her text survive today.
