Renée Staelenberg was a Belgian prodigy pianist, chamber musician, and talented composer who studied at the Conservatoire de Liège and the Conservatoire de Paris under Henri Büsser. Her promising career was cut short by her early death at age 26. She gave numerous recitals in France and Belgium, performing both classics and her own works. Her Chansons Majorquines inspired by her trip to Majorca, were praised for their melodic richness and their poetic evocation.
