She studied flute with Kersti Walldén Sinding, Martina Dingstad and Anne Lill Ree. The latter was her teacher at Toneheim Upper Secondary School, where she also studied composition with Rune Rebne. She is researcher at NIFU Nordic Institute for Studies of innovation, research and education. She was previously affiliated with the Centre for Excellence in Music Performance Education (CEMPE), the Norwegian Academy of Music, where she completed her PhD thesis entitled Pressures for change: Institutional politics in higher music education (2023).
