Picture this: a composer from the bonnie lands of Scotland, shaping vibrant, characterful works for wind band and grand ensemble alike. Her workshop? A warm, well-worn home studio, alive with the gentle murmur of instruments waiting their turn to sing. For her it’s never just about the notes on the page; it’s about storytelling through sound: bold, lyrical and full of life. If there’s a melody to be chased or an idea to be explored, she’ll follow it- often at the pace of a runaway fiddle tune.

Siobhan Dyson is a multidisciplinary creative whose work spans composition, performance and filmmaking, with a particular passion for writing for wind band. Drawn to the colour, energy and community of the medium, she delights in crafting music that allows every player a moment to shine. A largely self-taught musician, she has developed proficiency across a wide range of instruments, including piano, cello, violin, tin whistle, and glockenspiel- earning her a reputation as something of a one-woman orchestra, always eager to add another instrument to her repertoire.
Her creative journey gained momentum at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where she expanded her artistic voice into film. Recognising the potential of combining visual storytelling with original music, she began producing her own short films, starting with 'Playing with Myself' . Since then she has continued to create distinctive, self-driven projects that showcase both her compositional voice and her commitment to hands-on, independent production.

Siobhan’s practice is defined by curiosity, craftsmanship and a willingness to experiment. Whether composing for wind band, developing a film concept, or performing her own work she takes pride in building projects from the ground up. Each piece reflects not only her technical skill, but also her enthusiasm for collaboration, storytelling and the ever-expanding possibilities of her art.
