Karmina Šilec is a multidisciplinary artist. As a director, composer, conductor and production designer, she creates projects with theatre and opera houses, festivals, ensembles, and other artistic institutions worldwide.

Her artistic practice is rooted in a cross-disciplinary field where music, theatre, performance, visual art, technology, and science intersect and merge into a unified creative language. As an author-director, she has developed an artistic concept called Choregie. Choregie focuses on a creative process that brings the musical principle of composition into the theatrical dimensions of performance and staging. Within Choregie, an emancipated composition emerges through the positioning and interaction of diverse materials — movement, sound, text, and visual imagery — into a larger, inclusive work.
