SCHRAM, Ruth Elaine

Ruth Elaine Schram began piano and theory lessons at age five and composed her first song at twelve. She studied music at Lancaster Bible College and Millersville State College, later teaching elementary music in Pennsylvania. Known for poignant lyrics and beautiful melodies, her catalog now includes over 2,500 published works with millions of copies sold. She has received the ASCAP Special Award each year since 1990. Her compositions appear on thirty albums, four Dove Award finalists, children's videos with gold and multi-platinum certifications, and television programs including HBO's "The Sopranos."
